- Install Conversions for LinkedIn in your CRM business account. After installation, select Open setup dashboard and authorize your CRM account. You can also open LinkedIn Conversions from the business account menu. Both entry points open a secure dashboard for the selected account.
- In LinkedIn Campaign Manager, open Data → Signals Manager → Direct API. Generate an access token. You need an eligible ad account role and Conversions API access.
- Create a conversion rule with Direct API as its data source. Copy its numeric ID and the ad account ID from your Campaign Manager URL. Enter both IDs and your token on the Connection tab and select Verify & save.
- Enable premium workflow actions for the business account if your CRM requires it, then add Send LinkedIn Conversion to your workflow. Map Event ID and at least one identifier: Email or li_fat_id. Map value and currency together if relevant. Conversion time accepts ISO format or Unix milliseconds.
- Validate a synthetic event in Verify & send. Validation makes no LinkedIn request. For an actual API test use a dedicated conversion rule not associated with active campaigns, then explicitly select Send to LinkedIn.
- Verify LinkedIn acceptance in the Delivery log and incoming data in Signals Manager. Associate your production conversion rule with the relevant campaigns before using it for attribution.
Identifiers and retries
Email is trimmed, lowercased and SHA-256 hashed; existing SHA-256 values are accepted without rehashing. The optional li_fat_id is sent as LinkedIn’s first-party ads tracking identifier. Event IDs must identify a particular conversion and remain stable across retries. Use different IDs for distinct appointments, payments or lead outcomes.
Rate limits and transport failures return a retryable error. Configure your workflow retry or error path to repeat the same Event ID. This app does not silently queue or retry failed deliveries on your behalf.
Click capture
The optional linkedin-capture.js script fills hidden fields named li_fat_id or linkedin_click_id. Load it only after the relevant advertising consent. It keeps the latest click identifier in browser storage for 30 days; it does not install the Insight Tag.
Disconnect
Use Disconnect to remove this business account’s saved LinkedIn credentials and delivery logs. Revoke the token in LinkedIn if you also want to invalidate it there. Disconnect before uninstalling the CRM app, or contact support for deletion. Disconnect does not cancel your Marketplace subscription; manage cancellation in your CRM app subscription settings.
